Mandatory Credit: John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports Kyle Harrison ended a personal five-game winless streak, Brett Wisely collected a triple, a double and a single, and the San Francisco Giants opened a three-game home interleague series against the Minnesota Twins with a 7-1 victory on Friday.
Jorge Soler had a triple among his two hits for the Giants, whose five extra-base hits in the game all contributed to the scoring.
Harrison (5-4), who hadn't won since May 18, limited the Twins to one run and five hits over 5 1/3 innings. He walked one and struck out three.
The only run charged to the left-hander came after he exited with runners on second and third and one out in the sixth. Reliever Ryan Walker retired both men he faced to finish the inning, with a Willi Castro infield out scoring Carlos Correa to get the Twins on the scoreboard.
By that point, the Giants had a 4-0 lead. Soler's leadoff triple led to a run in the first, Mike Yastrzemski doubled in a run and later scored in the second, and Wisely jogged home on a Soler single hitting a triple in the fifth.
The hosts matched Minnesota's run in the sixth on an RBI ground-rule double by Wisely, then blew the game open on a two-run double by Michael Conforto in the seventh to go up 7-1.
Twins starter Joe Ryan (6-6), a San Francisco native making his first start at Oracle Park, allowed five runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings. He walked three and struck out six.
Wisely had a chance at a cycle when he led off the eighth inning, but walked. He finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.
Matt Chapman walked twice and scored twice for the Giants, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Heliot Ramos joined Soler with two hits apiece.
Byron Buxton, Ryan Jeffers and Trevor Larnach, who entered the game as a pinch hitter, had two hits each for the Twins. The visitors out-hit the Giants 10-9.
